Hi Mike,
Thank you for your personal encouragement. I really wanted to say thank you for publishing the 7000 styles for use on all instruments. I have just purchased a KN2600 as the 7000 has become too valuable (and heavy) to lug to keyboard club anymore. The 2600 has a very different set of rhythm groups and is largely incompatible with SD card transfers from 7000 to 2600, and in my experience completely incompatible from 2600 to 7000, EXCEPT when the rhythm group is chosen from the set you produce. For example there is no Country Piano (Blueberry Piano) on the 2600, and the version from the 5000 is different (a wonderful but quieter more restrained version). Your style set cures the problem. I now have Blueberry on the 2600 in the Rhythm Group memmory and the SD recording from the 2600 works on the KN7000. Can't wait for the SD card version. Could the jumbo styles SD of all previous style versions be "updated" to include the 7000 series (and ? 2600 styles)?
On another topic, the 2600 came with the Reference Guide. Does the club still need a copy, and if so how do I send it?
And again, I suspect that your revival of a central information website for the Technics keyboards is keeping the brand alive and maintaining (and in my areas increasing) the value of the instruments. In this respect I am concerned that members who feel unable to become VIP members may feel "left out" of the full benefit of membership. Perhaps this was the intent - to encourage the freebees to contribute - but could this be counter-productive. How many VIP members would not contribute were there no special content?
Can't wait for the Bill Norris MIDI's on SD.

Re: 7000 Rhythm Groups (Styles)
What a great idea to have a KN2600 as a backup. I visited a member who has a KN2600 last year and really enjoyed trying it out. It has a slightly 'lighter' sound than the KN7000, not so much bass but very crisp and clear (though I didn't play with the EQ). I expect it sounds very similar through amplification.
And I'm delighted that the Time Warp Series has been beneficial for you.
For the KN Origins Series, Adding the KN7000 Styles to that would only serve KN2600 users. And as you're aware, many of the KN2600 Styles are very similar to KN7000. So I feel it is best for KN2600 owners to add the ones they need to the SD Card. Additionally, the Time Warp Series is for VIPs but the Origins Card is for ell Members. Creating the Time Warp Series was a lot of work for John and me, which leads me on to your other topic...
I've had the websites planned for about ten years believe it or not. You can see them developing well and how much work is involved... and I really have done only a fraction of what I have planned out. In fact, it is difficult for me to choose what to do next! John and I meet up a few times a year to discuss where to aim our efforts next. At least that is the plan but we always end up just chatting about music and Technics instruments for hours. There are so many plans! I aim for the highest quality in everything I do and that also means that I produce the various series incrementally. If I waited until each Style was absolutely perfect with Home Pages, Performance Pads, Panel Memories etc etc I would never get anything published. So, everything here is a journey of iterative improvement.
There are lots of free resources here and they are of great value, I think everyone would agree with me. However, running the sites isn't just a matter of time, there are quite considerable costs. The VIPs go to subsidise the running costs of the sites, so in effect they subsidise the Members who don't want a VIP Membership. Indeed, some Members are only looking for a copy of the manual for their instrument. What I try to do is to encourage those Members to see what else we have to offer here and hopefully get more out of their instrument. I make no charge for manuals except for the KN800 (because I tried to get that manual for years and then I had to buy a KN800 to get it!). Well I digress here, back to topic.
I know you will agree that a 1 Year VIP Membership is worth any single one of the VIP updates that we publish and that I try to support a huge range of different keyboards so that everyone will receive a reasonable return. I'm extremely grateful to the VIP Members such as yourself for the contribution they make and in return they deserve to get something special. I ran the sites for more than a year funding them myself and creating the VIP Membership was the only way I could think of to be able to continue the sites, I was on the verge of having to downsize things and I didn't want to do that. So, with VIPs covering about a quarter of annual costs at the moment and advertising covering about the same I now feel that we're in a stable and building position.
More importantly, I think we have achieved a lot here. We have a wonderfully warm community building, we have a huge wealth of resources for the instruments that simply didn't exist before and I believe that we have increased the value of the instruments. Probably the most important thing we have achieved is that we are showing owners that their instruments can have a new lease of life by discussing and illustrating all of the features that people have never tried before and probably didn't know existed. So, we're all getting a lot more pleasure from instruments that we already had! I know that I am. I learn something new every day.
Probably the greatest difficulty I have is the emails I receive which need very long and detailed technical responses. I get quite a few each week. I simply can't answer them all. I'm happy to go into depth in the forums because it benefits a lot of people here and also others can join in. Some of these emails are highly specific and it just isn't fair to spend a couple of hours responding to an email when answering a forum post might help a hundred people, so forum posts always come first.
By the way, thanks very much for the offer but the KN2600 Reference Guide is in the Members Area on the following page:
http://members.technicskeyboards.com/instruments/kn2600/...
Over the Christmas holidays I have some new content to release but I'll also be revisiting many of the pages to make them more clear and to add information. I'll also be revisiting Bill's Songs 4 U and improving some files in the various Styles Series. Also, in particular there are many pages on technicskeyboards.com that I haven't had chance to revise since publishing them in 2014, so I'll be adding lots of photos and other info about the various ranges of instruments and adding some chronology and original pricing information. That's the immediate plan anyway. Usually I don't quite get to complete the 'current plan', whatever it might be at the time!
After that.... the list is too long to write there is no end in sight, which is a good thing!
Thanks for your support and best wishes,
Mike
