I just purchased a used kn7000. The operating software version is 1.3 and I know that there are upgrades (at least to v1.6) Where can I get these software upgrades

Hi squeezeb0x,
KN7000 - To display the installed version:
- Turn off the keyboard.
- Press the following buttons in the SOUND GROUP section, [PIANO] - [GUITAR] - [MALLET & ORCH PERC] and hold them as you turn the keyboard on
- You will see the version number on the bottom right.

Thanks for the info - I double checked the current OS of my KN7000 and it's v1.3. So I followed the instructions to do the disk check on the 4 disks that I downloaded to begin the update process and the KN7000 gives me no messages to do the disk check. i.e. when holding down the panel memory buttons 1,2,3, and 4 and then turning on the keyboard I get no message to do a disk check. (I tried it on all four disks) Any suggestions?

The instructions say panel memory 2, 3 and 4. They don't say to hold number 1.

Hmmmm, My instructions say to hold 1,2,3, and 4 while powering on the KN7. But I tried just holding 2,3, and 4 but the result was the same. I do not get any options to do a checkdisk or update.

I've tried it here and it doesn't work on mine either, sorry I can't help you further. Please note if you are upgrading from v 1.3 you must upgrade to v 1.4 first or you might damage your keyboard.

I'm aware that you must upgrade to v1.4 before going to v1.6. I will continue to work on this and if I find a solution, I'll let you know.

Mike,
Just an FYI . . .
Apparently you can't just copy the downloaded upgrade software to the 3 1/2 in floppy - you must open the file and save it to a floppy from that menu (German Instructions). When making the floppies that way - it works fine. Checkdisk on the keyboard said O.K. and then I upgraded. Am now a happy camper!

I'm really pleased that you're sorted. I was aware of the extraction method, however, I suspect that my fingers were too big to be able to press all four buttons at the same time! And I wasn't trying too hard as I didn't really want the program to run deep down I think!

I don't publish the upgrades on the site because A, people say that they don't see benefits from upgrading and B, they can damage your keyboard if not done correctly. However, I'll email you directly about this.

Hi Mike,
I am trying to upgrade my KN7000 from v 1.3 to 1.4 but could not get it done.
The instructions specify holding down Panel Memory buttons 1,2,3,4 while powering up and release them when the text appears.
I tried to do it by releasing when the displays shows picture but could not go further. Can you help please.
BTW, can you tell what do we get with the new versions 1.4 and 1.6 ?

I have upgraded about a year ago to v1.6 and cannot find any noticeable difference.

hi Folks, come to think of it I have never come across any , I have seen odd posts on the net saying about problems when using all of the expansion boards but I have all 4 fitted and never had a problem.

One thing was improved and that was consistency in the playing of 'audio files' or MP3s as I call them which have been loaded onto an SD Card using SD Jukebox.
