Hi, I'm new to the group so apologies if someone has already asked this question before but I am currently considering purchasing a kn7000 but the one I am after does not come with a music rest. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement music rest from? Does not necessarily have to be a genuine part, just something that does the job. I don't particularly want to use a sheet music stand behind the keyboard but don't see any other alternative, so your ideas or experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi your lack of music stand is not uncommon the oiginal stand is now longer obtainable Mike and I have been talking about this with the option of designing a new and robust stand for the KN7000.I am sending this reply from hospital,hopefuly I will be home 3 to 4 days and I will be intouch with Mike(admin) and see what we can come up with and will keep you in the loop

Hi,
As John said, we're working on some new stands with additional features, with an engineering company. But it takes time to develop these sorts of products and time is the main thing we're short of!
If you needed a replacement original stand to be made in the meantime I could get one made for you. The timeframe would be about three weeks for something like that.

Thanks for getting in touch. I don't mind waiting at all for your new type of stand. I can use a sheet music stand behind the keyboard for the time being, so no rush.

I'm new here. I bought my KN7000 since 2002, but its music stand was lost during move/relocation.
I know this post is kind of old, but I still wonder about your new design stand project for KN7000? I need one so please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Brian and All,
Just like several of my projects it has proven to be quite complicated to source music rests for Technics keyboards. I have made drawings of quite a few of the rests and taken the actual rests to manufacturers to try to take this forward.
I'm speaking to a fabrication company at the moment about making them in stainless steel and I hope to have them available late summer. Please monitor this thread for updates, I certainly won't let it go and will post news here eventually.

PS the replacement won't match the original it will have a solid surface because I don't like the way that sheets of music fall through the original. But it will fit in the same way as the original.

The previous posts came up with USA flag. I've edited my address as UK at the bottom of the Profile.
(Has always said UK at top of the Profile Page anyway).

I don't unfortunately, that's one of the main issues. I don't want to order several if they are expensive in case people don't want them. I think I'll email all the owners of particular keyboards when I have news of each stand cost and gauge interest. It might have to be a pre-order item where several of us buy at the same time.
I'm also discussing a stainless steel lid stengthener because some people's lids are starting to bow.
Anyway, the intention is to try these out on my own keyboards first. If there are any issues they need to be ironed out first.
Several of us have the technote perspex music rest but that depended on parts of the original rest. I'm looking at something similar but in stainless steel. The technote rest is wider and can support several sheets of music at the same time. It's about four sheets wide. I'll post a photo when I get chance.

PS the website autodetects location and adds the flag. Probably you're accessing through a VPN or you use an unusual service provider. Sorry about that it rarely goes wrong but it helps me to reduce admin. The site does quite a lot of analysis of people's posting habits and locations to help me reduce spam and piracy (you wouldn't believe it if I told you some of the nonsense I have to deal with). Good to know you're in UK for future reference. Cheers.
