Very best of luck with that! The only fault I have ever found with any of the Technics main boards be it the KN7000 or its predecessors, or the organs or pianos for that matter has been power supply issues especially with switching psu circuitry, start up muting circuit issues, memory backup battery (or more usually super capacitor) failure and finally soldering issues on one of the final VLSI chips that was causing intermittent sound loss on a KN3000 so actual outright failures of main voice boards have been zero. If you go back to the really old ones then there are more serious faults but then not many people want SX55 organs anymore!

Thanks Dave,I was writing for my friend who live in Pennsylvania US, He had send is main board to Japan for repair.He recieve it in good condition.
But now he is looking for another main board in case
I know itsvery rare to find this main board

Maybe some one can help him to repair is mainboard

Hi HB.
I am not sure that because he cannot 'download some custom styles' that there is something wrong with his main board.
First of all my thoughts are; what does he mean by download.
Does he mean he is unable to access custom styles that are already in his KN7000.
Does he really mean CUSTOM styles.
Does he mean UPLOAD custom styles to his KN7000 which he has found on the internet.
May I suggest he signs up here and goes into some detail about what exactly he is trying to do rather than you trying to explain your understanding of it. No disrespects.

Hi..I just contact my guy and he told me when he upload a custom folder --CST from is sdcard ,the screen when black.
And after 2 weeks he open the kn7000 and it works again without uploading some custom folder styles
Its only when when he download these custom folder the kn kn7000 crash and the screen go blank (black)
Thats why he told me its a main board problem
He have 2 kn7000,one its works fine but the other kn 7000 dont upload the CST flles

Hi,,Well the problem is resolve
In the floppy disk (custom style) .CST there was a virus Thats why each time he download the custom styles ,the kn7000 crash with the screen black.
It was analyse with the Panda antivirus
I remember many years ago I have read in a forum that when you unplug the keyboard for one week and after you plug in again the keyboard will reset
Thats why when he was loading the floppy disk (virus) the keyboard crash
Now he is very happy and he thank you for your help

Great news. Thankfully virus are very rare with keyboard technology. If he can remember where he got that .cst file from we ought to warn the supplier.

Hi,,What happen is that he download a software for free,(any dvd)and in the software there was a keygen.exe
Soe he went to purchase of the Panda anti virus He run it and the result was a hidden folder and it was the keygen number of the the software
so he delete the virus and after he deinstall the software
And after he download the custom styles and the keybard was running good
Before he use to have the Microsoft essential anti virus and he did not find a virus
So thats why he bought the Panda anti virus and the problem was resolve
He got the custom folder from a German friend
So his custom styles was not the problem

Can anyone help? I have a problem with my KN7000. When switched on the sound works for about 10 to 15 seconds, then crackles and goes off completely. No sound from internal speakers, earphones nor external outputs. All other functions appear to be on. Could not get the Sound diagnostic (page 10) to "run sweep". Even after selecting any line using the top left sound buttons .

This is an issue I have written about here before. The power supply and amplifier board needs a rebuild, and I advise that the two 15 volt regulators and the transistor for the 5 volt regulator at least be moved to a heatsink mounted over the rear panel sockets.
The regulators and the electrolytics associated with the power lines all need to be replaced.
This solution will prolong the life of the keyboard especially in hotter climates.
