rickylewis United Kingdom Total Posts: 4 Joined: February 28, 2019	Hello, I have an issue with my KN7000 where some of the keys have stopped working intermittently in the last two octaves, namely the D, F# and Bb keys. Does anyone know what is causing this and what can I do to repair it. Its a great keyboard that I want to sell on to a worthy new owner. Failing this I'll have to look at selling it for parts. Things I have tried: -Resetting the keyboard. -Leaving it off for over a week. -Making sure power connection was stable, an no plug in the headphone jack. Kind regards. jd5live United Kingdom Total Posts: 360 Joined: June 8, 2014	Re: KN7000 Fault: Some keys don't play Hi Ricky, Sorry to hear you are having problems it looks as if the problem is more like a keying fault either mechanical or component based rather than a main processor fault. There is the total factory reset to try which is "Press and Hold the first 4 buttons of the TOP row of Rhythm section and power up. wait until the display shows Factory reset ,this is the engineers reset, You said the last two octaves, is this top or bottom octaves, and does the use of Auto Play Chord make any difference? I have done the total factory reset, sadly this hasn't helped. The auto play chord didn't make any difference. I live in Smethwick, Birmingham. Originally it was the last two top octaves, however after powering it on today is it now every octave APART from the last top one! (I have attached a photo of the keyboard and marked the keys no responding: Red crosses = not working, Green circles = Weren't working before, but are now) I checked a few other things. So if use the sequencer to play the affected keys the sound plays, if I use an external MIDI sequencer to play the keys the sounds plays. Interestingly if I press the keys they do not send MIDI messages or input to the sequencer, but they DO send aftertouch MIDI messages! I have attached photos that show those messages. jd5live United Kingdom Total Posts: 360 Joined: June 8, 2014	Re: KN7000 Fault: Some keys don't play Hi Ricky, It sounds as if the fault is in the Keying scanning part of the Keyboard assemble because the aftertouch is part of a different circuit. As they say around here yam only down road. I am in Bilston, My local music shop a has a good bloke who does his repairs and just done a Technics for him,I will get his details for you.Our site engineer is based down in the South East,a bit far !!. It does not sound as if it is contact failure as they are in some sort of pattern, if the silicon strip had failed it is often just one or two notes.
