And FYI, a non-working KN7000 sold last week on eBay UK for £405 (845 AUD).

So definitely don't throw it away! At least put it on eBay. You can probably get a KN6000 or KN2600 for what the broken KN7000 is worth or use the cash towards another KN7000.
