Hi,
I just wonder if anyone has found an alternative to the rare SZ-FC2 footswitch controller ?
From a post I read , it is a very simple design so I would like to build one but I need help form my friends from this KN7000 forum.
I would like to know :
1. What is the state of the 4 switches : normally open or closed ?
2. Are they momentary switches ?
4. What is the pinout of the 8-pin DIN connector ?

Any help from anyone of you will be very appreciated.

Hi, I have looked at your enquiry with interest as I was about to put together an article regarding a very similar thing. I am in the process of gathering the relevant data to do so. Some time ago back in around an article was up on the web by someone in the USA. who had built a 4 way switch unit to attach to the edge of the lower part of the keyboard.this may have been for ease of use or that using foot pedals was not an option (Wheelchair player ?). I will dig it out it is on my spare hard drive (I used to store all sorts of things just in case I needed them .That's why Mike calls me Mr Ferret !!!LOL) If you can give me a few days I will send a copy of the data to you ASAP
NOTE as I have NOT built a similar unit as yet I can NOT vouch for the correctness of the info. But they should point you in the correct direction.
Here I what I know so far:-
The Technics FC2 is made up of 4x FC1 units mounted on a flat metal plate spaced about 1/8" apart and wired together along the back to connect to the 8 Pin Din.via a 4to 6 foot cable. The switches are normally closed and of the non latching type.
Hope this is of help and when I have the draft of the article I will let you know, but If you come up with any ideas please let us know so we may share

Does anyone know the plan for an FC2 please?
I have an eight pin lead, four normally closed footswitches and an eight pin din socket with four 6.3mm jack sockets.
Am I good to go?
What goes where, please?

Hi, Alan I am in the process of changing the backup drives on my PC at the moment If you can give a couple of days to locate the wiring details. I will send to you ASAP you know what it is like when you are in the middle of a tidy up. Then you can't find anything !!! LOL.
