Hi everyone.
I have got a problem loading my backups from a SD card. Unfortunately I had a mishap a couple of months back when I switched the keyboard on. I held the on/off button down a little to long and I think it sent my keyboard back to default settings. I have tried to load my sounds back into he keyboard from some backups that I saved to a SD card a few years ago but unfortunately it won`t restore my settings. I would be very grateful if someone could help me restore my backups and resolve the setting issue.

Hello Mike
I sense that you are not exactly a 'newbie' to the KN7000 so I will try to ignore the absolute basics.
First of all I am assuming that when you 'backup' and subsequently 'restore' what you have had in the past saved on an SD Card that you have been using the software programme 'SD Explorer' on your computer or laptop to carry out this function.
Depending on whether what you saved to the SD Card as you were going along was 'everything' - see pages 2 and 3 of save on your keyboard - then it is really a case of what was therefore actually saved and therefore backed up at that time.
When you say 'settings' do you mean rhythms and sounds for specific pieces of music you play, along with panel memories and footpedal settings....or do you mean a whole lot more?
In other words Mike what is missing exactly?

Thank you for the prompt reply Rog. I haven't been using the SD Explorer software. I have saved sounds/instruments, volume mixes and effects in the Panel Memory and unfortunately I am struggling to re-load them back into the keyboard from the SD card.

It is certainly the case that if you switch off the keyboard rather too quickly whilst the SD Card is still saving some settings then everything on the SD Card gets wiped out. So maybe that's what you did and therefore there is nothing that you can use on that SD Card. Looks like you might have to start from scratch although I remember reading somewhere that if you save a further random setting to that buggered up SD Card then all the other settings will come back but I've never tried it...fairly obviously.

I wasn't saving as I switched off the keyboard Rog. Is there any software I can use on a PC to see what is on the SD card ? maybe a good starting point here.

Software... SD Explorer. Hopefully still available. Failing that send the SDCard to me.

Here`s the link to the SD explorer. It`s important to read the instructions before downloading, not that I`m speaking from experience !!
I`ve downloaded the explorer and I can see that there are panel memory backups on my SD card. I`m still struggling to reinstalling them onto the technics KN 7000 though!
