tls United States Total Posts: 10 Joined: April 10, 2015	Hi Guys (and Gals) I'm looking for an OS Update diskette(s) - Version 1.3 for my KN6500. As I understand (and I could be wrong- I am, often...) there were two OS versions for this model- the original v1.0, and the updated version- v1.3. (I've already determined that I have v1.0 on this keyboard.) The weird thing is, I've looked- and while I see update disks available for the KN6000 and the KN7000, I can't seem to find one for the KN6500. Sooo... I'm kinda at a loss... Secondly the reason we have not put operating system upgrades on the site is that most upgrades are now only on sites that have been not updated for some time or are sites that have been archived . Mike and I have discussed this and I feel that as it is something that could harm your equipment and the fact we could not guarantee the software as being 100% correct ,any upgrades and the relevant discs used would be at the owners risk. Sorry if this sounds negative but we do not wish to be held responsible for potential corrupted or damaged files, some files may well be fine but there is that risk. Regards John. aka. Mr Ferret. Yes, I seem to be having issues with the OS: While all functions and buttons seem to work as required, several of the instruments have a peculiar sound effect added- similar to what an amp with a spring reverb being struck would sound like. (The voices themselves are accurate, except for that strange sound effect.) So far, I've tried re-initializing several times, and of course I've verified that all effects- including Chorus and Reverb- are turned off. I've also verified that the problem isn't in the unit's speakers- by plugging into a keyboard amp. Outside of this (major) obstacle, this keyboard seems to perform flawlessly- including a beautiful display. QUESTION: Would there be any other way to reset the OS without the use of a 3rd party disk? Or, is there any other solution to this anomaly that I might have missed? Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. (Side note: I'm absolutely willing to take any and all risk and responsibility for a 3rd party solution if you could direct me to one- as the keyboard is essentially unusable to me in its current state.)
