I have a feeling I am going to need a few more details as your description is a little to vague to provide much help!

Does it run and will it do demo mode?

Hi Dave, When I turn on my keyboard , no lights are on ,screen shows error message "error in cpu data transmission" . Keyboard piano will play, but no rhythm , no instruments , no anything. Other people have had the same problem as I have searched , but no answer .I have checked for loose connections also can not find a memory battery . Any ideas Dave? Thanks Vic. P.S. no demo mode.

There is indeed a back up battery. It is a 1F 5v5 component and depending on if its been changed before it is either a coil shaped item that is soldered onto the main voice board standing upright, or since this particular design is less popular now it is a round component about 15mm across and about 6mm high and may be mounted as suits the board. These are called ultra capacitors or super capacitors, they are not batteries but they do the same thing.
If this is faulty and they do occasionally go short circuit it will take out the 5 volt backup supply and confuse the main processor. Indeed it may even pull the main 5 volt line down which will stop things working too.
I would advise not to dig around if you have never worked on things like this before as a single slip can make it beyond repair.

ooops. typo! its a coin shaped item rather like a standard computer battery (mn2032) but with solder connections and edge mounted.
