HI all, i have a GA3 which suddenly when i was playing suddenly lost sound, i switched the organ off and when i switched it back on it lit up and hums but no sound and the screen instead of displaying information just has a series of horizontal lines across it, i have had it apart to see if i couls see any problems but could not find any and it is still the same. Unfortunatly i live on the Isle of Wight and there are no organ repairers there at least not that i know of if any one can help or suggest where i could get it repaired that would be great as i really miss not playing it thankyou, Sue.

Re: Technics ga3

Hi there Susanne

The GA3 is one of several that use the same voice board so the FA1 and the G100 are effectively the same organ. Unfortunately they all suffer with the same problem as they get older. Your failure is due to the 5 volt power supply on the voice board. It can be fixed but it is unlikely that it can be done in your home. It is a nasty problem that can be very time consuming!

By all means drop me a reply here. I am sure Mike will give you my own Email address. I am based in Kent and have done several of these. If you are not too far away I am happy to come and have a look at it for you. There are some that are further damaged resulting in the board and therefore the organ becoming scrap as there are few spares available!

Regard

Dave
