HI
How to remove virus from KN7000 becuase when i press custom my keyboard stoped
thank u for help

Hi, to do a factory reset, hold the first 3 buttons down on the bottom row of the Rhythm section and power up the keyboard,the display will show "All Initial Setting" this may cure the problem,if not you will need to use the "Initial Data Disc " which came with the KN7,if your disc is missing please let me know and I will arrange for your to receive a copy. Note all you settings in the keyboard will be lost but this is unavoidable when doing a reset either factory or disc resets.Hopefully this will restore you KN7000 to full health.

Hi I have attached the initial data disc contents,,when you load it into the keyboard it will list the options select "Custom" and that will reset all custom memories to factory, If you have any further problems or queries don't hesitate to come back to me and we will hopefully get things sorted for you

Hi Klass, I will sort out the files you are looking as soon as I can, just to check it is for the KN6000 and not the KN6500 ? I hope to have them in a day or so.

Hi Mike! I am a newbie KN 7K owner without an"initial setup disc". I need one I believe will help with an Auto Acc. issue I am having. I tried the mentioned initial instrucytions with some success but the 'Gremlin" remains to some degree I don't believe is hardware problem.. Something in software is corrupted to be sure.
Can you send me a disc? Please advise.

hi Ken. You have found the other part of admin The Mr Ferret (only joking ) I am John (jd5live) I take it you do not have the included disks for your KN7000 I have attached them below, Have you got the style convert disk ? If not I will see what I can do. The Files attached are All custom,Midi settings,Favorites and Home Page. You need to load the one for the area you are working on ,however if you want to start with a clean sheet load each one and you will have your KN7000 back to factory settings
NOTE !!!! if you have anything stored Just do a backup as once you have loaded these files that's IT.( Don't worry it's not that bad !)

Hi Mike! Just me again. Forgot to says thanks!
I own 2 Yamaha Kd's, PSR 8000 [bought new], and 9000, that I obviously compare my newly aquired 7K with. However, nothing came in the way of instructions with it and I have had to 'fish' my way into getting it to function as advertised. So far, so good with the exception of getting the AC to act properly. Of course, I am using the Yam 8K-9K as the 'plumbline'. The 8 and 9K are each beautifully midi'd up to a CHX1 and US1 organ respectively.
This is my first experience with a Technic product aside from their VHS products and Seth Ryes expert demonstrating them.
OMT: I have no idea where to go for hardware repair service so, needless to say, I am in need of education given this KN7 has been heavily played by its previous owner here Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.
Again, thank you for any and all your help in bringing this old fellow along. This goes for all others on your forum who may wish to contribute to my mental well being . .)).

I see your "link[s]" at the bottom of your post. If meant for me, question: What is the procedure to follow for installing them. I ask because I saw them posted by you for someone else and downloaded them for viewing. I recognize nothing familiar. I am at a loss but to guess how to upload to the 7K. I hate guessing. Please don't assume when dealing with me in these matters . )) I am fairly high maintainance until the lightbulb comes on. . 0)!

Question: Does "INITIAL DATA DISC" leave the keyboard clean of everything except original factory settings? Does it remove all that might "clobber" the AUTO ACC into allowing its keys to keep on sounding if depressed after the finish of a performance. . . . and keep sounding because MEMORY ON is activated?
Should not the "left of split" not sound anything until START is activated? Mine plays and plays loudly.

I am in desperate need of 1.4 upgrade diskettes.
Ik downloaded them somewe=here, but now the KN7000 does nothing.
Strange thing, The KN7000 does not start up with the upgrade menu with the proper panel memory keys activatet, unless, the diskette was first formatted in the KN7000 itself. I had 2 of these diskettes, but one is destroyed now by windows chkdsk.

It is ok now. I purchased another KN7000, to format diskettes en unpacked the 1.4 and 1.6 update diskettes in Windows 98 compatability mode. That did the trick.
So do not format in a Windows 10 machine and unpack in 98 compatability mode.
I upgraded both my KN7000's to 1.6 now. The soundquality of 1.6 proved to be better than that of 1.1. Easy tested with two boards on 1 stand.
