Hi all, I've recently got hold of a PX6 that has 4 dodgy keys. 3 don't work at all and another doesn't respond to anything but a fairly hard press. Could this be something as simple as dirty contacts? If so does anyone have any tips on getting them cleaned or even cleaning them myself? Anyone got a service manual kicking around that they could share?

Re: PX6 Piano with some dodgy keysHi Jason, The service manual for the PX6 is one of the ones I am still trying to locate, However the type of contacts that Technics generally use are of the silicone membrane type. You also say the one key is hard to push down it is best to check if there are any items that may have fallen into the keyboard keys themselves, also are the faulty keys all together ?

Re: PX6 Piano with some dodgy keysHi John, thanks for your assistance with this. I seem to have explained myself badly. The fourth key's action is fine but it doesn't make any sound unless you play it fairly hard. The unresponsive keys are actually pretty spread out D#1, F3, B4 (slightly unresponsive one) and G5, i think, though that's from a scrawled note. I'm not in front of it now. That's what made me think it may be the contacts getting clogged up.

Re: PX6 Piano with some dodgy keysRight Jason,I have had some thoughts on your problem. We have a very helpful full time Engineer who is in modern terms just around the corner. his name is Dave Tutt.
