Hello, the sustain pedal in my PX107 has suddenly stopped working. Everything else seems fine. Is there a function for switching it off that I could have inadvertently triggered, or is there anyway I can diagnose and fix the problem without trying to take it you a technician, as my nearest one is 300 miles away?! Also, is there service manual for this model available anywhere? Regds, Mark

Re: PX107 Sustain Pedal Not Working

Hello Mark and welcome to the site, Right let's start by doing a factory reset to see if this cures the problem. First please make sure all connections are secure and the pedal cable is not trapped. Then with the instrument turned off Hold down the uppermost F# and switch on. this will set the unit back to factory default. Hopefully, this will solve your problem. If the fault continues please come back and we will look into other options.
Best regards John.

PS.We have the Owners Manual on file, however, we are still looking for the Service Manual. (copies are few and far between, engineers don't give them away very often)

Re: PX107 Sustain Pedal Not Working

Hi John,

Thanks very much for your prompt reply!

As far as I can see the pedal cable is properly attached, and both the soft and sostenuto pedals work OK. I previously tried a factory reset based on my user manual instructions, which are a bit different from yours - 'press top F-sharp while holding down Mode set button'. This did reset everything but still the pedal doesn't work. I tried your suggested reset method too, which also does the factory reset but still the pedal isn't working. Obviously I use the sustain pedal most, and over the years the damping felt in it has worn so it's quite clattery and I've been meaning to change it (I only play with headphones so the noise doesnt bother me too much!) I wonder if any damage has been done by wear and tear which is causing the damper problem?

Much appreciate your support!

Best wishes,

Mark

Re: PX107 Sustain Pedal Not Working

Just to update on this problem, I took the pedals off and discovered the wires to the sustain pedal had been neatly severed. It looks like a mouse ate my piano! I've found someone locally who can solder some new ones, so hopefully that will resolve the problem......
