How can polishing the display?

Hi! I bought a second-hand KN6000 instrument. On the display (outside) has a large, opaque, matt spot. What material are these display glasses? What material could be polished? Thanks!

Re: How can polishing the display?

Hi, With regards to your question as to what material the screen is made of, it is high grade acrylic which protects the LCD display behind it. It sounds that some kind of chemical has fogged the acrylic this can be caused by heat or chemicals. I have restored a number of KN keyboards and I would advise you try a very fine metal polishing compound on a cotton wadding, this may help but will take some time. I use this method to remove scratches in the screens and it also restores the shine. Please let me know how you get on. ( in the UK we have a metal polish called Duraglit wadding used for cleaning Silver and Brass I am not sure if you have a similar product )
Regards John.
