E11L no sound or drops in for a sec

When turned on there is no sound, sometimes it drops in for less than a sec and up to maybe 5 sec. Everything else is working, or at least it looks like it does. Has anybody come across this problem?

Not left a headphone jack adaptor in the socket by any chance?

Re: E11L no sound or drops in for a sec

most likely thing is the 12 volt regulators on the power supply. I can't remember exactly what is in that organ but if one or other of the regulators fails you will get something similar to the fault you have. You should have a positive and negative regulator that powers all the preamp circuitry, so all the tone filters, the driver stage, the outputs to the rhythm stage, so its a bit crucial. I couldn't find the manual for this one in my collection but if it is as I suspect you will have 7812 and 7912 regulators on heat sinks. You should also change the capacitors clustered around these three legged transistor like devices.

If you can do it yourself then I'll say no more but if you have never done any electronics maintenance before I would advise you find a suitable local engineer!

I am in Kent UK.
