KN800 Fault

On switching on KN800 keyboard, the display shows as the attached image (something about Sound Module) and won't play - any ideas?

Re: KN800 Fault

Hi , Don't panic if I remember from my days as a Technics dealer what you have done is set the Keyboard into the MIDI Sound Module setting, this sets your Keyboard to become an external sound module which you can control from a digital piano for instance. Now I have to just remember how to reset the KN800 back to normal playing mode. If you can give me a little time to check a few things I will get back to you
Regards John.

Re: KN800 Fault

Now this is really pushing my memory to it's limit back to 1989 ish. but here goes :- Press Memory and Control, go through the menus till you come to "Sound Module Mode this has a number of options which will include "off" set it to Off and exit the menus hopefully we will have success. I know Mike has the KN800/600 Manual for sale the modern Re Print has all 3 parts that came with your Keyboard when new.
Regards John.
PS if you need further details please come back to me as I say it has been 27 years since I sold my last KN800.

Re: KN800 Fault

Hi John

I purchased the manual a few months ago but my grandson had "hidden" it!
Now found it.
I have now managed to clear the problem - not quite sure how as I could not find a Sound Module menu option but I did find a Reset one.

Many thanks anyway.

Maurice
