I have downloaded several folders of 40x snd files for the sound memory to the sd card successfully.(Hooray!) Most sounds work though some don't but that's okay. However with so many to choose from I could spend forever searching the ones I really like. So ideally I need to be able to take 40 favourites at a time and create a new folder of say strings or guitars etc. Problem is I can't access the individual files in sd explorer. I think might be able to load them to a composer bank ABC (three at a time) and save them to sd and when I have 40 I can save each sound into the snd memory (then save that) and then I can put them into groups via sd exp. Will this work do you think? BUT IS THERE AN EASIER WAY??

Re: Is there an easier way?

Hi Mel,

Well, in fact there is only one way that I know of but it's not too bad.

You need to do a little preparation by writing down the Sounds you want, or taking a note of the numbers, or printing off the PDF lists I've uploaded for some of the Sounds and marking the ones you want in your set of 40.

Now, with your floppy or SD Card in the keyboard, press LOAD and when you are on the LOAD Display, go to Page 3.

Press the MODE button until the Display says Sound Memory. On this screen you can access the individual Sounds within the TM files and load them into Memory slots.

Job done, now you can SAVE your SOUND GROUP Memory. Press SAVE, go to Page 2 of the SAVE Display. Turn off everything. Turn on Sound Memory. Give it a name and save it.

It doesn't take long when you get into it. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks Mike for your invaluable wisdom. Yes it works a treat but it's worth mentioning all the downloads ie Movie prods/Super Sounds etc should be placed in one folder on the sd card for easy access otherwise you would have to load another folder and delete what you're trying to save in the memory (which was my original dilemma!)

Re: Is there an easier way?

Mel, you're absolutely right it is easier to have as many as you can in one folder. However, you wouldn't lose what you've done if you loaded a few Sounds and then backed out to enter another folder and repeat the exercise. Also note that I've numbered the files so that they can be loaded by floppy disk, or transferred to SD card via floppy disk using the KN7000s interface. When they are on SD you might want to give them long names and remove the numbers. Very easy to do using KN-SDExplorer on your PC, not quite as easy on the K7. We're all learning a lot, I love it!
