Years 'n years ago I subscribed to the Technics magazine (1 every two months). Sadly I've only got the six final publications but they were very useful for workshops and tips. Granted, we now have a terrific website but I was wondering if I can view back-copies somewhere. Perhaps we could have a dedicated web page! There are so many short cuts that can take massive amounts of time before you find them. I have quite a few tips where the sequencer is concerned. I can give you just one example here..
You may want to adjust say measure 83 in more than one track in a sequenced song. Each time you go into a track (PROG MENU/SEQ/REC&EDIT/NOTE EDIT) you will find yourself at measure 1 and will have to scroll all the way to measure 83. It will save time if you select CYCLE ON in Play Mode and set the start measure to 83 first. If you then press CYCLE ON before PROG MENU etc on each track you enter you will be at measure 83 instantly (unless there are no notes at the measure.

Re: Retro Mag/ Workshop
Hi Mel, thanks for the great tip.
The magazine was called Techplus and the copyright is now owned by Strawberry Music. Neil (of Strawberry Music) has two CDs available with all of the magazines in PDF format.
Years 'n years ago I didn't know about the magazines but I discovered them on Neil's site and they are incredibly informative and useful, they cover the whole range of instruments and many of the articles suit several keyboards at a time.
I 'm in the process of printing and spiral binding them all for myself (to read in bed!). Though I suppose I could just as easily read them on a tablet.
Here is a link to the accessories page on Neil's site. To find the Techplus Magazine disks just search for Techplus. - Techplus Magazines in PDF
Nobody will regret buying these disks, they are incredibly low cost compared with the original purchase price. PLEASE mention this site if you make any purchases with Strawberry music so that they know I referred you.
Also on that page are many other goodies that you might miss on his site such as DVD tutorials and Alec Pagida's brilliant book that will teach you all you need to know about transferring files as well as many of the more obscure techniques for working with your KN7000.
I have to say a word about Neil here. He has supported the Technics keyboard range for decades and I can't imagine how he keeps so many floppy disks of different compatibilities and all the rest of it organised, it must be a mammoth task. Strawberry Music sponsors our quarterly Prize Draw and I'm immensely grateful for that (don't forget to enter!).
More importantly, to me, Neil agreed ten moths ago, when this website was a fledgeling, that I could publish some of the articles from the Techplus magazines. He didn't need to do that and I think it is fantastic. There are already some articles on the site such as:
Review of the PR604 (Instruments Menu)
Reviews of some of the expansion cards (Technics KN7000 Menu)
An article by Tony Pegler about sequencing Moonlight Serenade (Extras Menu)
And others. I'm also grateful to Tim Thomason, one of our Members, who kindly did the text editing n some of these articles because I have quite enough on my hands doing the graphics and editing them into the site itself! Of course you can't just copy and paste the PDF into the site!
So, we will have some more articles from these magazines coming when time allows but don't let that put you off buying them because they are absolutely invaluable.
And once again, do mention this site when you make purchases from Strawberry Music, so that Neil know that his efforts to help us are being returned in kind.
Strawberry Music also has the copyright for all of the original Technics & Technote commercial Styles, which are brilliant! And the TUNE 1000 MIDI disks that were produced in association with Technics from KN1400 onwards. These MIDIs are truly brilliant and I think that Neil hardly plugs them on his site, the pages for them are rather understated for what he is offering.
Of course, you might win the magazines in the Prize Draw!
Best wishes,
Mike
PS the one thing I would dearly love to have if anyone can help out is copies of the cover disks to any of the Techplus magazines, as they have disappeared into the ether.
