Good morning Mike,
I do not expect you to spend time answering this post. Just replying to your recent email.
I would like to see in the magazine hard copy of the procedures to download music content from your websites. I have been downloading to floppies on a macbook pro, which as it turns out still has Apple drivers for the floppy drive. I then transfer each file on the KN7000 to SD cards. I know that you have published better ways to accomplish this, but living in two places I can never find what I need. Also, a massive problem is that Apple does not recognize 1.44 DD discs, so each disk download takes 2 or 3 disks. I have just been given a XP notebook, but with Microsoft no longer supporting it I am still looking for drivers for WIFI WEP2.
I would like to hear much more about the KN8000 project. Being able to transfer prepared files to one of our club instruments (Korg, Yamaha electone, Roland) and perform as if it were the KN7000 would be a great help to me as I am getting beyond lugging even the KN2600 up and down stairs. If music scores could be displayed and automatically paged as played (like the tutorial screens for the KN7000, but synced to the player) I think this would be a great feature. An extension would be to auto play the piece from displayed sheet music, allowing the muting of parts for practice purposes, or possibly expanded accompaniments using the computer's inbuilt sound ability for orchestral parts, and the KN8000 for the featured artist. Because I use pedals and like to change the assigned instrument, I would love to see a single button method of assigning a pedalboard instrument/sound.
I do have spare time, so if there is anything I can help with in the development, please let me know. Regards, Brian.

Re: Magazine wishes

Hi Brian,

What a great post! I'll answer briefly...

I've already written a "User's Guide to the Websites' for the magazine and in line with your request I'm going to add an article for Mac users (Alex will help me with that).

In the near future on TechnicsKN7000.com I'll be showing you how to get full support for Windows XP up until 2019.

The "KN8000" project... well, this is developing but not quite in the way I originally expected. And will only run on PCs, not Mac. I'll possibly write an article for the magazine we'll see what steps are made in the very near future.

Pedals - I too use pedals and I'll publish an article about that. Not sure whether it will make the magazine it will probably go on the website.

Best wishes,
Mike

PS I'm going to duplicate these posts in the forum on TechnicsKN7000.com
